Wyoming – Later this summer, the US Forest Service is expected to put an expanded food storage order in place in Western Wyoming. The agency says it is trying to protect forest users from bear conflicts. But outfitters and others have been carping about the plan since it was first proposed in 2002. They say bears just aren't a problem in forest areas that are getting the food storage order. Wyoming Public Radio's Aaron Alpern has more.

And with bear-proof containers, everyone in a group is forced to carry extra weight. But by next spring, a new, more convenient alternative could come on the market.
Cheyenne, WY – When he was elected governor, Dave Fruedenthal became chair of the State Land Board, which is in charge of managing the 3.5 Million acres of property the state owns and uses to help fund schools. Casper, WY – Communities looking to improve their air service have until June 30 to apply for a federal grant program designed to help small towns. A year ago, a joint proposal by Casper and Gillette was one of those to receive grant money. The counties matched the $500,000 federal grant and used the money to buy a 19-seat airplane. The plane was leased to Big Sky Airlines, which has been flying a Casper-Gillette-Billings route since late October. The suit was filed by Richard and Bonnie Johnson of Wheatland, but the settlement is being kept confidential.
