Wyoming – A Wyoming committee is proposing a statewide smoking ban. The question is whether to outlaw smoking in all public places or if certain places like bars and restaurants should be exempt. But previous attempts at a smoking ban have failed. Addie Goss reports.

Wyomingites Visiting Doctors Less

Casper, WY – Wyoming women are less likely than men to see a doctor because of cost concerns, according to the Wyoming Department of Health.

Ashley Busaker of the Wyoming Department of Health's Maternal and Family Health Division says cost concerns drove 12 percent of the state's population away from the doctor within the last year.

She says nearly 15 percent of all women bypassed care, compared to 9.8 percent of all men.

West Nile Discovered in Laramie County

Cheyenne, WY – A Laramie County woman has tested positive for West Nile virus. It's the first confirmed case in the county this year.

The Cheyenne-Laramie County Health Department said Friday that the woman's case brings the statewide total of confirmed human cases of West Nile to nine this year.

Most people who contract West Nile don't develop symptoms. But people can become ill with fever, headache and swollen lymph nodes. In extreme cases, it can be fatal.
