College Tax Voted Down

Casper, Wy – Once again, a couple of attempts at creating a statewide tax for community colleges have failed. The Joint Education committee voted down two proposals including one that would have taxed the 16 counties who do not have community colleges. Opponents called that taxation without representation because those counties would not be represented on local college boards.
