UW Waits for More Information out of Virginia Tech

Laramie, Wy – Officials at the University of Wyoming are watching the events at Virginia Tech closely. University spokesperson, Jay Fromkin, says he cannot comment on whether or not security levels on campus changed in response. But, he says the school does have an established emergency response plan. As for whether or not something like this could happened at U-W Fromkin says that's something difficult to figure out, especially at this early stage.
Fromkin says the university is offering counseling services to students Tuesday evening.

Energy Expert Praises Wyoming for Improvements

Laramie, WY – An energy expert says Wyoming is leading other western states in efforts to improve power lines and natural gas pipelines. Tom Petrie is a vice president of Merrill Lynch and Company. He says Wyoming's work to improve power lines and pipelines is important. That work together with the recent creation of School of Energy Resources at the University of Wyoming indicates that the state is undergoing an economic evolution.
