Film Incentive Bill Becomes Law

Cheyenne, WY – Governor Dave Freudenthal signed a bill today setting up an incentive program to attract movie companies to Wyoming. The proposal sets aside a million dollars in rebates for film companies that spend at least 500 thousand dollars during production in the state. Some say they hope the bill will attract film production to the state as soon as this summer.

State Holds Firm on Wolf Position

Cheyenne, WY – This morning almost two dozen people told the state legislature not to change its law for managing wolves. The state House's wildlife committee met to discuss changing the wolf management policy. That policy would go into effect if wolves come off the endangered species list and the federal government approves the plan. Right now the state is suing to try and get the federal government to sign off on the law. The committee voted unanimously to leave the state law as it is.
