Bill Would Make Property Owners Clean Up Meth Labs

Cheyenne, WY – Property owners will have to clean up any meth labs on their property under a bill the state senate passed today. Cheyenne Police Chief and Senator Bob Fecht, sponsored the bill. He says the problem is not widespread, but where it's needed, it's very necessary. The bill says if a landlord refuses to clean up the lab, the local government could do it and take the person to court to recoup costs. There was some ambiguity about how much this would cost property owners.

State Legislature Votes Down Lottery Bill

Cheyenne, WY – The bill to create a lottery in Wyoming died last night. The vote was fairly close in the state House, but those opposed to joining a multi state lottery and making scratch and win tickets available won out. Representative Rodney Pete Anderson argued that he didn't want Wyoming to be responsible for marketing a form of gambling. There have been a couple of polls in the state showing support for the lottery and it had seemed momentum was behind the lottery bill.
