Cheyenne, WY – The State of Wyoming has agreed to pay nearly $45,000 to settle claims by a correctional officers' union that top administrators at the state Department of Corrections retaliated against them for union activities. In the settlement, Corrections Department Director Robert Lampert also agreed to allow the Wyoming Association of Correctional Employees more freedom to try to recruit new members and to express concerns about prison management. The Corrections Department declined comment.
JACKSON, Wyo. – The Wyoming Department of Transportation says a mudslide that closed a highway between Alpine and Jackson is still moving and dumping debris into the Snake River. State officials say they don't know when U.S. 26-89 in the Snake River Canyon will reopen after this weekend's slide. The closure is sending drivers on an hourlong detour.
