Cheyenne, WY – The Wyoming All State Marching Band will march in the 2012 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. The band officially received the invitation Tuesday in Gov. Matt Mead's office in Cheyenne. The governor accepted and expressed thanks to the Macy's parade. A Macy's parade official says the Wyoming band is one of only 11 selected from more than 150 applicants around the country. More than 3 million people line the parade route in Manhattan and more than 45 million watch the event on television.
Alpine, WY – The Wyoming Department of Transportation is restricting trailer traffic over Teton Pass in northwest Wyoming during certain times of each day because of a mudslide between Alpine and Jackson. U.S. 26-89 about 25 miles south of Jackson has been closed by a massive mudslide that occurred over the weekend in the Snake River Canyon. Laramie, WY – Rocky Mountain Power has reduced the total amount of its most recent rate hike request. In November, the company proposed a 21% increase for Wyoming rate-payers, which would have generated about $98 million in additional revenue. Now the company is seeking an $80 million increase instead. That's according to the Wyoming Public Service Commission's Chris Petrie.
