Laramie, Wyo. – Whiting High School, in Laramie, held an all-school assembly today to mark its commitment to an anti-bullying program called "No Place for Hate." That's the program that led to angry debates about tolerance in Wheatland earlier this year. In January, the Wheatland school board voted to take down a banner celebrating the program because it included the logo of a Colorado-based gay and lesbian organization.
Cheyenne, Wyo. – A lawyer for landowners along a blue-ribbon stretch of the North Platte River says public access to the river should be more limited.
The state Supreme Court heard arguments Tuesday in a case against the state brought by private landowners who live along the river in southeastern Wyoming.
Cheyenne lawyer Harriet Hageman represents area landowners who say the state's recorded easement on the Lusby Public Fishing Area prevents the public from entering the river without permission from the landowner.
