Cheyenne, Wy – The legislatures Joint Appropriations committee has voted to increase the amount of money local government will get in the state budget. The Governor had recomended 157 million dollars, but today (Thursday) the J-A-C voted to increase that amount to 175-million. But it will still be about 300 million less than local governments receive in the current budget.
Casper, Wy – Ron Micheli of Fort Bridger is kicking off his campaign for the Republican nomination to run for Wyoming governor. Micheli is a former state representative and former director of the Wyoming Department of Agriculture. He plans campaign stops Wednesday in Cheyenne and Casper. Micheli says he wants to defend citizens' constitutional rights and defend Wyoming's sovereignty from infringement by the federal government. Cheyenne, Wy – A Wyoming gubernatorial candidate has cut ties with a volunteer who used a bit of online trickery to misdirect visitors trying to link to her opponent's Web site. Republican candidate Rita Meyer said Wednesday that volunteer Paul Montoya was no longer working for her campaign. Meyer says she had been unaware of Montoya's decision to register a Web address very similar to rival Republican candidate Matt Mead's. Montoya's action meant visitors to mattmeadforgovernor.com were sent to Meyer's Web site.
