Laramie, WY – A South Dakota legislative panel has given its approval to new rules that likely will be used to determine whether the Dakota, Minnesota and Eastern Railroad can use eminent domain to acquire land for its expansion project.
The South Dakota Legislature's Rules Review Committee approved rules passed last week by the state Transportation Commission.
The commission has been asked to grant the DM&E the right of eminent domain to acquire land in western South Dakota so it can extend its east-west line into Wyoming's coal fields.
Laramie, WY – Cooler temperatures are allowing Yellowstone National Park to lift fishing restrictions on many of the park's rivers and creeks.
The restrictions were imposed July 21st because of high water temperatures that can be stressful or fatal to trout.
Under the restrictions, anglers couldn't fish during the afternoon hours when water temperatures were at their highest. But recent cooler temperatures during the day have resulted in lower water temperatures.
The fishing restrictions will no longer be in effect as of 2 p.m. Wednesday.
