Casper, WY – An 18-year-old pedestrian was killed during a high-speed chase through downtown Casper this/Tuesday morning. According to a report from the Casper Police Department, a Wyoming Highway Patrol Trooper began chasing a Chevy pick-up just before 9:00, after spotting the pick-up traveling at very high speed. As the trooper tried to catch the truck, it turned toward Casper's downtown area, striking a telephone pole and a fire hydrant before hitting the young man, who later died from his injuries. The truck continued and ultimately veered into a large office building. The driver, a 38-year-old man, was arrested just after the crash. No one inside the building was injured.
A police department spokesman says the Chevy pick-up had Wyoming plates. According to local reports, the driver was talking incoherently about God as he was being arrested, but the police department spokesman would not confirm that.
