Cheyenne, Wy – Police have arrested 35 people on drug
charges following an investigation into distribution of methamphetamine in Wyoming.
John Powell is spokesman for the U.S. Attorney's Office in
Powell released a statement saying the investigation involved
groups trafficking in methamphetamine in southwestern and central
Wyoming, including Riverton, Rock Springs, Green River, Casper and
The statement says the groups also operated in other areas of
Wyoming, Utah, Arizona and Mexico.
Powell says most of the 35 people were arrested today (Tuesday).
He says three other people remain at large.
Powell emphasized that the people arrested are presumed innocent
unless and until they're convicted in court.
Several federal, state and local law enforcement agencies were
involved in the investigation. Powell called the case one of the
larger methamphetamine operations in state history.
