Lander, Wy – A statewide effort to develop more after school programs is continuing. Linda Barton with the Wyoming Afterschool Alliance says such programs are not only good for children, but also for parents and businesses because it allows for children to be cared for while parents are at work. But some of the energy areas of the state are too rich and do not qualify for federal money needed to run a quality after school program.
Barton says her office is working with Pinedale officials to address their need. She says a quality afterschool program combines education with fun which helps students learn in a more relaxed manner.
