Cheyenne, Wy – A Wyoming author and writer is going to join the Governor's planning office. Sam Western will take over as human service policy analyst. Freudenthal says that means he will look at the Health, Workforce, and Family Services Departments to see how they are working together. Western wrote a controversial book about the role of agriculture and mineral development in the state, but the governor says Western will not be involved with natural resource policy.
Freudenthal says he did not personally hire Western for the position, he says Western applied and the chief of staff selected him.
