Laramie, Wy – The Wyoming Banking commissioner says that people who have money in state banks have nothing to worry about. Commissioner Jeff Vogel says citizens have a right to be concerned about the health of Wyoming banks but it is his job in keep an eye on banks. He says Wyoming banks are safe.
Vogel: The banks here in Wyoming have had little exposure, did not originate any of the subprime paper and are not holding any of it, as far as I know.
Vogel says people with specific concerns should talk to their individual bankers. But he says the last thing anyone should do is remove money from their banks.
