Laramie, WY – A wildlife manager says this is the worst year he's seen for bear conflicts in his 12-year career. Many of those conflicts happened when hungry bears got into trash or pet food outside of homes. The Wyoming Game and Fish Department's Mark Gocke says people should NOT put their trash out the night before pickup.
"Also keeping your bird feeders up and out of reach keeping your petfood in -- those are the biggies that we see throughout the course of the summer," Gocke says.
Gocke says food has been scarce in the wild, so the bears have come into town looking for it.
