Red Lodge, MT – It now looks like it will take many months to re-open the scenic Beartooth Highway. The director of Montana's Transportation Department says the contract to repair damage to the road caused by mudslides will contain "substantial incentives" to have the work done by mid-October. Work was scheduled to begin Monday on removing debris from a 12-mile stretch of US 212, a critical road for the Red Lodge, MT tourism industry.
