BLM lease sale protested

Pinedale, Wy – The Bureau of Land Management has received at least 22 protests of its next oil and gas lease sale in Wyoming. BLM spokesman Roger Alexander said the agency BLM will review all the protests to see if they have any merit.
Nineteen of the protests involved 1,700 acres in the Little
Mountain area in Sweetwater County.
The Little Mountain area is popular for hunting, fishing and
recreation.
The sale is planned for June 2 in Cheyenne. The BLM is offering
84 parcels totaling just over 67,000 acres across the state.
The Audubon Society is protesting 29 parcels comprising about
26,000 acres. The organization says the parcels contain areas that
the state has identified as prime sage grouse habitat.
