B.L.M. Office Staff Turnover Due to Stress

Laramie, Wy – The Bureau of Land Management's office in
Buffalo is losing several staff members at the end of the month. The office is working to issue at least three-thousand coal-bed methane gas well permits before October first.
Assistant Field Manager Richard Zander says the workload and pressure to get them done is partly to blame for the sudden turnover of key employees at the office.
However, Buffalo Field Office Manager Dennis Stenger downplayed the role of administrative pressure to issue permits as a reason for the recent departures of seven specialists, including himself.
Stenger is leaving to become deputy state director for lands at
B-L-M's state office in New Mexico.
He insisted career advancement, not administrative pressure, is
the main driving force for his and other departures.
