Laramie, WY – Casper residents might soon be able to recycle plastic.
The City Council is considering setting up recycling bins around town. The council plans to discuss how to pay for the nearly $100,000 program in an upcoming work session.
Councilman Paul Bertoglio says the funds likely would come out of the funding reserves of the Casper balefill, where trash is compacted for disposal.
The city hasn't yet decided what it would do with the plastic. One option is to send No. 2 plastics, such as milk jugs, to a Torrington company. The company combines plastic with wheat straw to make planks for decking and fences.
