Kristin Espeland – A new report from the department of family services says that more than 6 out of every 100 thousand children in Wyoming died from maltreatment. That's for the most recent year data is available. The number appears to be on the rise, and it's the second highest rate in the country. Dr. Valerie Bell chaired the report committee. She told Wyoming public radio's Kristin Espeland that preventing maltreatment deaths will take the efforts of many. She recommends, for instance, that every region have a child protection team.
