Convicted Murderer's Sex Assault Trial Moved

Laramie, Wy – A judge in Campbell County has decided that the sex-assault trial of a convicted murderer will be moved to another county.
Kent Alan Proffit Senior is accused of sexually assaulting Bryce Chavers. The sex assault case was set to go to trial in late 2005, but Chavers was found dead from a gunshot wound to the head before the trial could begin.
Proffit's attorneys sought to move the sex assault trial because they worried local residents already know about the case and can't look at it objectively.
Prosecutors didn't oppose the request.
Proffit has already been convicted for ordering the killing of Chavers. This next trail is tentatively rescheduled for June 25.
