A Democrat running for Wyoming's lone seat in Congress says coming up with a national energy policy is the pressing issue of our time. Gary Trauner is running against incumbent Barbara Cubin. He says the energy bill that passed this year, which had the support of Cubin is part of the reason gas prices are high. He says uncertainty in the oil market caused prices to climb.
Trauner says the energy bill is not comprehensive and lacks true incentives to create alternative fuel sources.
However, Congresswoman Cubin said that the energy bill helps shore up the energy industry in Wyoming, which she called the foundation of the state's economy.
