Eastern Wyoming College Music - Torrington
The Eastern Wyoming College music department consists of two instructors, three performing ensembles, and many enthusiastic students. Michael T DeMers is the director of the music department and together with Janet Howard they instruct multiple academic courses in music for both music majors and non-majors alike.
The music department boasts their three performing ensembles: the Collegiate Chorale, the Master Chorus, and the College Band. These ensembles perform for public and private events in the Goshen County area and regularly perform three to four concerts per academic year. The ensembles, like the department, are going through a phase of fantastic growth and expansion.
Currently the ensembles are preparing music for EWC’s annual Spring concert. This year the concert will feature a mass choir, combining EWCs choirs with the Douglas branch campus choirs and community choirs from both the Torrington and Douglas areas. The choirs will be accompanied by both the EWC College Band and piano accompanist Janet Howard.
Upcoming Performances include:
April 4th: EWC Talent Show, hosted by EWC Art and Music Departments, 7:00PM EWC Fine Arts Auditorium
May 2nd: EWC Spring Concert – Torrington, 7:00PM EWC Fine Arts Auditorium
