Laramie, Wy – Wyoming added 7,500 more jobs in October than it did during October last year.
The Wyoming Department of Employment did this study. And it reports the state's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate remained unchanged at 4-point-1 percent last month. The national unemployment rate last month was 5 percent.
Job growth in the Wyoming's energy sector continued to lead the way in the state. Natural resources and mining added 2,000 jobs over the last year.
Following the normal seasonal pattern, employment did fall by 2,800 jobs between September and October, with losses in construction, retail trade and leisure and hospitality. At the same time, government added 1,800 jobs, mostly in local educational jobs such as school districts and community colleges.
