Cheyenne, Wy – A spokesman for F.E. Warren Air Force Base
says it appears that no one at the Cheyenne base was responsible
for ICBM components being shipped to Taiwan.
The parts were electrical fuses for the nose cones of ballistic
missiles. The fuses originated at F.E. Warren and were shipped to a
warehouse at Hill Air Force Base in Utah.
F.E. Warren spokesman Sgt. Kurt Arkenberg says it appears that
everything was fine until the parts got to Hill. Somehow, the parts
then got sent to Taiwan instead of some helicopter batteries in
Col. Mike Morgan is commander of the 90th Space Wing at F.E.
Warren. Morgan said in a statement that the Wyoming base has
"stringent accountability procedures in place" for shipments to
the Utah base.
