Cheyenne, Wy – While business leaders want Family Leave more clearly defined, others are critical of states for not having mandated family leave policies. Earlier this month, a study was critical of states like Wyoming that do not have mandated polices. But Wyoming A-F-L C-I-O Director Kim Floyd says that is not likely to change, because Wyoming is a Right to Work state.
But officials with the Wyoming Department of Employment say it has not been an issue raised as a problem. Director Cindy Pomeroy wonders if Wyoming's abundance of small businesses, has kept legislators from mandating such a policy. Since business leaders say a federal law is costing them money, members of Congress say they are willing to revisit the issue.
