Laramie, WY – Planned Parenthood of Wyoming is expressing dismay with the Food and Drug Administration for delaying action on over the counter emergency contraceptives. The organization also says Senator Mike Enzi could take action and help women around the country. Enzi is the chair of the Senate Health Committee. Planned Parenthood's Daniel Kessler says the FDA has previously put off making Emergency Contraceptives available over the counter and in his role as chair Senator Enzi could affect that. Kessler says Senator Enzi and the committee could then force the FDA to make a final decision. Senator Enzi's press secretary says he has not received any request to hold a hearing and he will consider it if he gets a request.
