Cheyenne, WY – The Federal Election Commission has fined the Wyoming Republican Party $1,500 for financial reporting inconsistencies totaling more than $129,000 from the 2008 general
The FEC also has told the party to review its accounting practices.
At issue are campaign finance reporting documents covering party disbursements over a six-week period before and after the election on Nov. 4, 2008.
Documents the Wyoming Republicans filed with the FEC in December 2008 showed $129,000 less in disbursements than the party submitted in an amended report in January 2009.
Wyoming Republican Party Chairman Diana Vaughan says the inconsistencies resulted from oversights after the party changed its accountant and bookkeeping software.
