Laramie, Wy – Several firefighters battling a fire in the Shoshone National Forest found themselves in a dangerous situation this week. Public Information Officer, Steve Till, says ten firefighters were walking and then realized the fire activity was up and so used protective equipment to survive.
Till says all ten of them are healthy safe now. The fire they were fighting is the Little Venus. It's burned 10 thousand acres and is near a few ranches.
Also in Wyoming the fire outside of Douglas has burned over 20 thousand acres and is only 25 percent contained. The fire in Sheridan County is 25 thousand acres in size, but is mostly surrounded now.
