Laramie, WY – The East Entrance to Yellowstone National Park is closed because a large wildfire is burning nearby in the park. A spokeswoman for the firefighting effort, Terina Mullen, says they've asked for crews and equipment, but the help has been slow to arrive. Mullen says they've also asked for helicopters and water trucks. She says their priority has been to assess whether any houses could be threatened if the fire gets much closer to Cody. It has burned about 10-thousand acres so far and is zero percent contained. Mullen says officials do NOT know when the East Entrance will reopen.
