Laramie – As housing prices increase, it is getting tougher for people to purchase affordable homes. Earlier this month the Wyoming Community Development Authority increased the purchase price for homes that would qualify for home loans in the state up to 237 thousand dollars. After this move, Gillette homebuilder Tom Lang said he would start building homes in that price range. W-C-D-A Vice Chairman Ron Bailey says they were told that it could be as many as 30 new homes.Bailey says finding affordable homes is difficult in most places in the state, but in energy areas, he says it is nearly impossible.
