Gillette, WY – Officials are working to find ways to cut
construction costs of the proposed Cam-plex Multi-Event Center in Gillette after bids for the center came in almost 75 percent higher than expected.
Bids submitted in September put the cost of the facility at 38 (M) million dollars. That's 16 (M) million dollars more than voters approved 18 months ago when they approved a quarter-cent capital
facilities tax to build the facility.
The tax already has raised more than five (M) million dollars, but under the law it will stop when the original 22 (M) million is collected.
