Cheyenne, Wy – Governor Dave Freudenthal is calling on Wyoming's congressional delegation to put a stop to possible drilling in the Wyoming Range. The area is targeted for oil and gas drilling and opponents say it will hurt hunting and ruin one of the state's pristine areas. Freudenthal says there is only so much the state can do. He says it will require a bill from congress, most likely from Senator Thomas, who is a ranking member on such issues. Freudenthal says there is a lot of opposition to the proposed drilling in Wyoming. He notes that groups that typically would be at odds are coming together to fight development in the Wyoming Range. But he adds that the fight will not be won, unless a bill is drafted by the Wyoming Congressional delegation.
