Group Questions American Heritage Center Funding

Laramie, Wy – A group calling itself Americans for Prosperity is objecting to federal money provided to the American Heritage Center in Laramie. 315 thousand dollars was appropriated for the archive of rate books and manuscripts. One problem spokesman Ed Frank has with the money is that it was provided in secret as part of another bill. The other concern is whether a state University should get federal funding for such a project.
Frank says his organization is trying to end earmarking for various pork barrel projects. He says in 2003 academic earmarks surpassed 2 billion dollars.
