Cheyenne, WY – With a unanimous vote, State Senators passed a state-funded scholarship program much to the delight of the Hathaway Plan's many supporters. University of Wyoming President Tom Buchanan says it gives all students a chance at College and will improve the Wyoming workforce. Senator Hank Coe says the bill is almost overwhelming. Students would get a minimum of 800 dollars in scholarship money if they receive a 2.5 grade point average and score well on the Act. Students could receive more money with higher grades. The Senate rejected an amendment to allow students to maintain their scholarship money with a first year grade point average of two-point-zero. The bill now heads to the house.
