Laramie, Wy – Blowing snow shut down travel on parts of Interstate 80 and other highways in southeast Wyoming.Strong winds whipped newly fallen snow, causing poor visibility
in open areas.
Conditions were particularly bad along a 100-mile section
between I-80 between Laramie and Rawlins. Parts of U.S. 30 and 287
were also closed in the area of Rawlins, Laramie and Medicine Bow.
Meantime, the entire state remained in the grips of bitter cold
on Wednesday. Wind chills of 20 to 30 below zero were predicted
again for Wednesday night.
The National Weather Service says temperatures will begin to
moderate on Thursday.
