Laramie, WY – A conservation group is concerned about the new agreement the Park Service signed with the Jackson Hole Airport. The agreement extends the airport's lease until 2053. Sharon Mader with the National Parks Conservation Association says her group has been keeping a close eye on this airport.
"This airport is the only commercial airport within a national park in the country and because of that the park service needs to hold the airport operations to the utmost standards, the highest standards to preserve park values."
Mader says the agreement is a good first step because the Park Service did listen to her group's concerns, but she says there are still some concerns. Those are mostly about how the airport will impact the natural and cultural resources as it expands in the future.
