Jackson, WY – The Jackson Hole Land Trust plans to
acquire a 241-acre conservation easement to limit development on a property called the Poodle Ranch.
The land trust says the Poodle Ranch offers some of the best views in Jackson Hole.
The land is crossed by two cutthroat trout spawning streams. The property also is home to bald eagles, mule deer, elk, moose, mountain lions and trumpeter swans.
A conservation easement is an agreement to indefinitely limit development.
The land trust acquired a 40-acre conservation easement on the ranch in 1988. The latest agreement calls for the land trust to buy a 105-acre conservation easement and have the option to add the
rest of the ranch in the easement within a little over a year.
