Laramie, WY – The fire that started Friday at an old ice plant north of Laramie is still smoldering Monday afternoon.
On Friday high winds blew embers over 10 blocks to the east of the building and sparked grass fires. Today, winds are strong again and the Laramie Fire Department is worried the fire could flare up.
Kyle Polidora with the department says no structures other than the ice plant burned, but the Union Pacific did shut down its nearby rail line for over five hours.
Polidora says they have started to interview people to get information about who had access to the ice plant and to find out more about the building's history.
An on scene investigation can't start until the fire is all the way out.
