Laramie, Wy – The city of Laramie received an extra one-million dollars from the state legislature to fund major building projects. It was the biggest increase in Wyoming among all cities and towns. City Manager Janine Jordan says Laramie welcomes the extra money, which totaled nearly 13-million dollars. But she says it would make it easier for all cities and towns if they could better predict how much to expect each budget session.
This session, communities like Laramie that have a harder time raising money through sales tax typically fared better than energy-rich cities like Rock Springs or Gillette.
