Mark Gordon picked to be State Treasurer
Wyoming Governor Matt Mead made two key appointments today/Friday. He selected Mark Gordon to be the next state treasurer.
The Governor selected Mark Gordon from a list of three candidates to replace Joe Meyer who died earlier this month. Gordon is a former board member of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City.
He’s also a rancher and has served on the Wyoming Environmental Quality Council and the Natural Resource Trust. He ran unsuccessfully for Congress in 2008 against Cynthia Lummis in the Republican Primary. Governor Mead says he selected Gordon because of his financial background.
The Governor also announced that Todd Parfitt is the new Department of Environmental Quality Director. He’s been serving as the Deputy Director and oversaw the Industrial Siting Division of the agency.
In the past Parfitt worked for a firm that was an environmental consultant for business and government clients.
