Mead defends gun stance

Laramie, Wy – Wyoming Republican candidate for Governor Matt Mead says he is anything but anti-gun. Some bloggers have questioned Mead's commitment to the second amendment after having expressed some concerns over efforts to allow gun owners to carry concealed weapons without a permit. During an appearance on Wyoming Public Radio Mead clarified his stance. "If we can move forward and have a gun law within Wyoming that obviously does not give guns to prohibited persons because of some status, but doesn't require the permitting, I am ok with that as long as it doesn't kill our reciprocity. That's my main concern because I don't want someone to carry a concealed weapons permit and then they are inadvertently drive into another state and all of a sudden they are facing trouble."
Mead says there is no question that he is, as he calls it "a gun guy."
