Laramie, Wy – Energy companies are seeking federal
approval to drill three gas wells near Bondurant, a small community
35 miles southeast of Jackson.
If approved, the drilling would be the farthest northward gas
drilling has progressed in the upper Green River drainage.
Bureau of Land Management officials say the wells would be
drilled from one pad. Less than a mile and a half away is private
property in the rural Hoback Ranches subdivision, a rural
development with 122 homes.
Regulations require wells to be at least a quarter-mile from
homes. But drilling can occur on private land in the area because
the mineral rights have been leased to developers.
