Nicholas Remembered

Laramie, Wy – Longtime friends and acquaintances from the Vice President to Law professors said goodbye to Ambassador and former State Senator Dave Nicholas in Laramie. Nicholas died last week from an apparent heart attack.
Vice President Dick Cheney noted that he knew Nicholas for over 50 years and noted that he was the best man at his wedding, and always had a tremendous influence on his life. The Vice President also praised Nicholas for always taking the long view on issues. Governor Dave Freudenthal said during Nicholas run for Governor in 1986, he understood how to talk about vision in a way nobody else could. Secretary of State Joe Meyer joked that Nicholas was the only person in high school to wear a tie and called him one of the cleanest people he ever met. Nicholas served in the state senate for eight years , and held diplomatic posts in Vienna, Brussels and Kiev.
