Laramie, Wy – Students attending the Campbell County
High School prom in Gillette this past weekend were required to take a Breathalyzer test before entering.
Administrators stopped each of the students Saturday at the front entrance and made them blow into a flashlight shaped yellow tube as part of a new policy to control alcohol use.
Principal Larry Steiger says some parents and students had worried about alcohol use at school events.
The tests found just one person who had been drinking. That was a 21-year-old man who was denied entry.
Steiger said the Breathalyzer tests could be expanded to other school-sponsored events.
