Laramie, Wy – The state and federal No Call lists are having an effect. A recent survey says most people on the lists have seen a reduction in the number of telemarketing calls they receive. And Special Assistant Wyoming Attorney General, Mark Moran, says his office is not getting many complaints about violations of the law and he says con artists are also changing their behavior using the Internet for scams instead of telemarketing.
The No-Call law is about two years old. Moran says when they receive a complaint about a violation they send a warning letter to the company in question. He says this is working.
Moran notes that charities and organizations doing surveys are allowed to contact people on the No Call list.
