Northwest Cuts Back on Casper-Minn. Flights

Laramie, WY – Northwest Airlines will continue flights between Casper and Minneapolis after a subsidy agreement expires at the end of the month. However, Northwest will scale back from two round-trip jet flights a day to one for the foreseeable future and may look to re-add the second flight next summer. State and local sources agreed to guarantee Northwest's revenue for one year of the flights, for as much a two-point-25 million dollars. The hope was to entice the airline to stay on its own. That will happen in the near-term, but Northwest isn't making any long-range guarantees to Casper, according to airline Spokesman Kurt Ebenhoch.
