Cheyenne, WY – The Senate has made a major change to a bill that provides a sales tax exemption for renewable resources. The house had added nuclear facilities to the list of those entities that should get a tax break but Senators have removed it. Senator John Schiffer says the bill is supposed to deal with such things as wind farms. Senator Mike Massie adds that giving nuclear facilities a tax break could cost the state a lot of money.
However, Senator Charles Scott says nuclear power facilities are the wave of the future and also help reduce the amount of greenhouse gasses in the air. The bill will be debated two more times.
